Frequently asked questions.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow your clinician to see and feel the areas of your body that are being treated. Since we approach care from a whole-body perspective, a t-shirt or tank top and shorts, leggings or comfy pants are best.

What should I expect at my initial appointment?

At your initial assessment, your physical therapist will take time to get to know you and understand the history of what’s brought you in. She’ll listen to your story, ask questions, and begin building a picture of what’s going on in your body. From there, she’ll guide you through a hands-on, whole-body assessment. This might include moving into certain positions or doing specific movements, especially ones that seem to ease or aggravate your symptoms, to help identify patterns and areas of concern. Together, you’ll explore what might be causing your discomfort or dysfunction, and create a treatment plan that feels right for you, focused on helping you move and feel better.

How long do physical therapy sessions last?

Initial assessment and treatment session is booked for 1 hour. Follow up treatment sessions are typically booked for 30 minutes. There is also the option to book a 1 hour treatment session if needed.

What is virtual physiotherapy?

Virtual physical therapy is the delivery of health care services over the internet and other communication networks. It typically involves the use of video and voice conferencing to share home management strategies and exercises, all privately and securely.

What are the small group yoga classes?

Kristine offers small group movement classes at different locations in the community. These are by pre-registration and are kept to a small  number to ensure quality personalized programming. Please connect with Kristine, or add yourself to the waitlist if you are interested in learning more.

I was injured at work. Do you treat WCB injuries?

The clinicians at Mosaic are not authorized providers for WCB injuries, and are thus unable to bill WCB for any work related injuries. We are unable to treat WCB injuries.

I had a car accident - what should I do?

If you’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and sustained injuries, you are entitled to benefits, regardless of fault. The first step is to submit an AB-1 form to your insurance company as soon as possible. Next, you’ll need to be assessed by a healthcare provider (medical doctor, physical therapist, or chiropractor) within 10 days of the accident. They will complete the necessary documentation and guide you through the process of post-MVA care.

If you’re seeking treatment for MVA-related injuries, please let your clinician know right away so we can help you navigate your care.

Does Alberta Health Care cover my physical therapy at Mosaic?

The clinicians at Mosaic do not have a contract with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and thus are unable to provide post surgical/post fracture care that is financially funded by AHS. Please refer to the Alberta Health Services website and search under “physiotherapy” for a list of clinics that provide this funding option.

Will my benefits pay for my physical therapy at Mosaic?

Please check with your benefit provider to see what coverage you have for services offered at Mosaic. Your clinician will provide you with a receipt for services that can be submitted for reimbursement.
